Professional background

I am a 45-year-old lawyer and entrepreneur. Cashed out of a consumer financial services business and now involved as an angel consultant to a legal business. Significant experience of consumer marketing (online, print, tv) and business systems. I have time to offer regular support by telephone and monthly board. I have a particular interest in cutting edge food, restaurant and hospitality businesses. I split my time between Manchester / Cheshire and London (Shoreditch).

Areas of Expertise

Involved in several successful start-up business, having exited one by a sale to Private Equity. As well as a successful legal career as a QC, I have had significant involvement in online marketing, print and TV advertising, growing a business both organically and by takeover / merger, all legal and financial aspects of business growth and all forms of fundraising including debt and equity of different kinds. My passion is food and I would love to invest in a business with food as its focus. I regularly travel the world with my wife and young family (4 kids under 9), trying the best of what each country has to offer. Our London base in Shoreditch gives us access to the latest trends in food and entertainment and a good feel for the markets in those areas for the next few years.
