I have been starting and managing businesses Internationally, in a wide range of sectors for 20 years, my expertise is in building teams and producing accelerated growth. My first start-up was in online recruitment in 1996, I sold this to a Norwegian company and as MD of the UK business grew it to employing over 300 people with a TO of 13m in the first year of trading. Once the whole (multi-national) company floated, I joined the Group Executive as Head of Business Development.
At this point the group employed 2,000 people in 11 countries. In 2002 I started a specialist online insurance business exploiting online sales capabilities for a very low cost/highly profitable business model.
After some time off and a couple of Interim roles, I co-founded a maritime security business in 2009 acting as the Sales Director. With a turnover of 65m last year we have acquired other companies to form a group.
